MS Cert Kit – System Requirements & Technical Settings
In order to make sure you can utilize all parts of your MS Cert Kit you should test your computer and settings to make sure everything meets the system requirements for using the applications in MS Cert Kit.
Below are listed the system requirements for E-Learning, Exam Coach/Live Tutor and MeasureUp.
Microsoft E-learning
Microsoft has a special site that allows you to test if your computer is ready to run E-Learning, visit the site and test your computer at: https://www.microsoftelearning.com/help/systemRequirements.aspx
There are 3 simple steps in the test:
1.) Scan your system: Using the button in the top right corner scan your system and it will inform you if anything is not ready, it will show a status of Green (OK) or Red (not OK) – all 10 boxes must be Green!
2.) Your computer: Check that the sound, RAM, processor and internet connection meets the minimum requirements. See the boxes on the right hand side for info on how to confirm each part.
3.) Running Labs: Labs require a connection through certain Ports if running on a network (see details on the page), check with your network administrator to see if these ports are available. The Lab system is set up to inform students if any applications needed are missing and will offer you solutions. For further info on labs visit: Lab FAQ
IMPORTANT: Internet Explorer (IE) is the ONLY approved browser for running MS E-Learning (all beta versions excluded) if you are using IE 9 you must have Compatibility view turned on. (In IE 9 go to ‘Tools’ –> Compatibility view settings. You can set the website to always work in Compatibility view or set all websites to use compatibility view.)
Exam Coach & Live Tutor
Minimum System Requirements are Internet Explorer 6 or better.
Other browsers (Opera, Mozilla, FireFox etc.) may work, but we do not guarantee or support their function.
MeasureUp
Minimum System Requirements are Internet Explorer 5.0+ or better.
Latest version of Java Software (Go to www.java.com for a free download.)
Java Script enabled on browser.
Cookies enabled on browser.
